The SugarHill Sessions Hosts The Long Winters on Pacifica's KPFT 90.1FM
(HOUSTON, TEXAS) - September 12th, 2006 - Legendary Houston music recording studio, SugarHill Recording Studios, and the Pacifica Radio Network, launched The SugarHill Sessions radio show in April 2006, on Houstons Pacifica affiliate station, 90.1FM KPFT.
The SugarHill Sessions has been quite a success in the Houston live indie music community, profiling artists every month including Marah (Yep Roc Records), Jana Hunter (Gnomonsong), Todd Snider (Universal) and this years Houston Press Music Award winners Spain Colored Orange (Lucid Records).
This month The SugarHill Sessions hosts indie rock band The Long Winters. The band is fronted by John Roderick, who formed the band with members of Death Cab for Cutie, Built to Spill and The Posies. In 2002, they released the debut album The Worst You Can Do Is Harm on Barsuk Records.
Although the band lineup has since changed, Roderick has remained the tour de force behind The Long Winters, known for his clever lyrics and sharp pop/rock sensibilities. Armed with a new album Putting The Days To Bed, be sure to tune in to The SugarHill Sessions with The Long Winters, August 29th on KPFT 90.1FM at 2pm. The show can also be streamed live from http://www.kpft.org. For more on SugarHill Recording Studios, visit: Web Site = http://www.sugarhillstudios.com
